4. Squeeze the aspirator two or thee times. If the
temperature is below -25°C, additional ventilation
may be necessary. If the temperature is above
10°C, no ventilation is necessary.
Some snow engines are not equipped with ventila-
tors because ventilation is not necessary for such
engines.
5. Connect the extension cable to the engine.
6. Plug the other end of the extension cable into the
earthed socket.
7. Push the start button until the engine starts.
8.
m In order to prevent damage to the electric
starter, do not let it run continuously for more than
5 seconds with each start attempt. Wait 10 sec-
onds between attempts.
9. If the engine starts, release the start button and
move the choke control slowly to the OFF posi-
tion.
10. Disconnect the extension cable from the connec-
tion socket first, then from the engine.
Cold start - Recoil starter
1. Ensure that fuel valve is in the OPEN position.
2. Insert the safety ignition key into the ignition slot
until you hear a click. Do not turn the key.
3. Move the choke control to the FULL position.
4. Squeeze the aspirator two or thee times. If the
temperature is below -25°C, additional ventilation
may be necessary. If the temperature is above
10°C, no ventilation is necessary.
Excessive ventilation can result in too much fuel get-
ting into the cylinder which prevents the engine from
starting. If this does occur, wait a few minutes before
attempting another start and do not press the venti-
lator.
5. Hold the recoil starter handle firmly and pull the
rope slowly until you feel resistance. Allow the
rope to recoil slowly.
6. Pull the rope quickly and forcefully with a consist-
ent movement. The starter rope must not recoil
quickly.
7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 until the engine starts.
8. If the engine starts, release the recoil starter han-
dle and move the choke control slowly to the OFF
position.
Warm start
Follow the steps above, wherein the choke control
remains in the OFF position and do not use the as-
pirator.
The engine needs a few minutes to warm up other-
wise it cannot reach its full power until it reaches nor-
mal operating temperature.

In the event of snow and cold, control and moving
parts may freeze. Do not use too much force when
trying to operate frozen controls. If you experience
difficulties operating a control or part, start the engine
and let it run for a few minutes.
Snowblowing tips
It is easier and more efficient to clear snow immedi-
ately after is has fallen.
The best time to clear snow is early in the morning. At
this time, the snow is normally dry and has not been
exposed to direct sunlight and warm temperatures.
The cleared paths should overlap somewhat to en-
sure all the snow is cleared.
With large areas, start in the middle and clear the
snow to each side so that the snow is not cleared
repeatedly.
In the event of heavy snow, reduce the width of the
snow clearing by ensuring that the paths overlap and
that you move slowly.
The snow should be cleared in the direction of the
wind where possible.
The engine must remain clean and free of snow dur-
ing use. This encourages ventilation and increases
the durability of the engine.
Let the engine run for a few minutes after clearing the
snow so that the moisture on the engine dries and
moving parts do not freeze. Switch on the feed screw/
drive wheel so that the remaining snow is removed
from inside the housing. Turn the ejection shaft so
that it does not freeze. Stop the engine, wait until all
moving parts have come to a standstill and remove
any ice and snow from the snowblower. With the en-
gine switched off, pull the recoil starter handle several
times so that the recoil starter does not freeze.

10. Cleaning

Attention!
Always shut the engine down and remove the spark
plug connector before carrying out any cleaning work.
We recommend that you clean the device directly af-
ter every use.
Wipe swarf and dust off the machine from time to time
with a cloth.
Clean the device at regular intervals using a damp
cloth and a little soft soap. Do not use any cleaning
products or solvents; they could attack the plastic
parts of the device. Make sure that no water can pen-
etrate the device interior.
