When placing the antennas from the RFW, care must be taken to ensure that the
signal attenuation occurring on the line is taken into account. Since this attenuation
value very much depends on the cable used, the following values can be regarded
as reference values. We recommend using the GSM outdoor antennas (Part No.
057591.20).
Cable type: RG 58 CU:
RG 213 / US 100: Attenuation: 24.2 dB / 100 m (at 1000 MHz)
These details refer to two frequently used types of cable. If this quality is not sufficient, high-quality
special cable such as RG 219 can be obtained from relevant specialised dealers.
Please discuss the use of this or a comparable cable with your local specialist
wireless retailer to try and find a more cost- effective solution to keep costs and
the time involved to a minimum.
Since high-quality antenna cables have a much larger diameter than standard
cables, specific routing instructions and installation guidelines must be followed.
Please also note that corresponding connection elements / adapters need to be
used.
6.4.2.2 Use of remote antennas
The GSM outdoor antenna (Part No. 057591.20) has a 5-meter-
long antenna connection cable which must not be shortened. If
the antenna connection cable needs to be lengthened, a GSM
cable (Part No. 057592.10) with a further 5 m is available. The
cable adapter allows the antenna connector (SMA) to be con-
nected to the input socket of the GSM Terminal (MMCX), while
at the same time mechanically securing the plug connection.
The 057810 comes with an antenna PCB with mounting bracket.
The two cable adapters of the remote antennas are to be
mounted on this antenna PCB. The two antenna connections
are to be mounted on these cable adapters. The remote anten-
nas should also be mounted on the antenna PCB by the short-
est route. The cable adapter enables the antenna connector
(SMA) to be connected to the input socket on the GSM terminal
(MMCX), while at the same time also securing the plug connec-
tion mechanically.
When using two remote GSM external antennas,
we advise that you observe a distance of at least
30 cm between antennas and pay attention to
local conditions.
