Notes on installation, commissioning and safety

For proper operation of the 4G USB extension module, the following instructions
must be observed!.
During the project planning phase, first establish which GSM network is available in the
building under surveillance . The reception conditions can be checked using an available
mobile phone (field strength display).
Take due account of weather conditions. Different weather conditions can affect reception
quality. Check the reception by means of a test run that lasts for several days under variable
weather conditions.
By appropriate planning of the location, as well as suitable routing of shielding and protective
earth connection, mutual interference of mobile phone and neighbouring electronic devices
(e.g. also burglar or fire alarm control panel) must be kept as low as possible.
Always maintain a minimum distance of 1 metre from system components and from signal
and supply lines.
The instructions in the chapter "Earthing and shielding" in the corresponding installation
manual must be observed!
In general, the 4G USB expansion module must be installed inside the housing of
the intruder control and indicating equipment.
Air traffic safety
Safety for air traffic - the GSM terminal must not be operated on board aircraft. Using a
mobile phone on an aircraft can adversely affect the navigation system, interfere with the
wireless network and is illegal. Violation of these stipulations can entail temporary termina-
tion or complete stoppage of mobile phone services and/or may lead to legal action being
taken against the person responsible for this violation.
Environments with explosive materials
Environments with explosive materials - users are advised not to use these devices at fill-
ing stations. Do not use wireless devices near filling stations, fuel depots, chemical plants or
when working with explosives.
Non-ionising radiation
Non-ionising radiation - as with all other wireless transmitters, users are notified that it is
advisable to use the device only in a normal operating position in order to ensure satisfactory
use of these devices and operator safety.
Electronic medical devices
Electronic medical devices - Notice for people with cardiac pacemakers - The operation of
wireless transmitters, which includes mobile phones, can adversely affect the functional
capability of improperly shielded medical devices. Please obtain information from a doctor or
from the manufacturer of the medical device.
