8. Maintenance/cleaning

DANGER: Risk of electric shock
Always remove the power plug from the mains socket before cleaning. This could
result in an electric shock.
Do not pour or spray any liquids onto the ice cube maker and do not immerse it in
water or other liquids. This could cause short circuits which could result in electric
shocks or fires.
WARNING
Empty the water reservoir (13) after a maximum of 24 hours to prevent mould forming.
WARNING about property damage
Do not use abrasive or astringent detergents or tools which could scratch the surface
(e.g. metal sponges). Otherwise, the ice cube maker could get damaged.
Do not use boiling water for cleaning.
Do not clean the metal rods at the back of the machine with a cloth or similar.
Scratches would have a detrimental effect on the production results.
Do not attempt to clean the ice cube maker and its accessories in the dishwasher, this
would cause irreparable damage!
Activating the machine's self-cleaning function:
if the machine is still in use, follow the instructions in the section on "Stopping making ice
cubes".
Insert the mains plug into a mains socket.
Fill the machine with fresh water to the MAX mark, as described in the section on "Topping up
with drinking water".
Press and hold the "POWER" button
cleaning process, during which the "ICE MAKING" (3), "ADD WATER" (4) and "ICE FULL" (5)
LEDs light up red or green in sequence. After approx. 15 minutes, the machine switches into
standby mode and the "ICE MAKING" LED (3) flashes green.
Remove the mains plug from the mains socket and drain the water out of the drain opening
(12).
Remove the ice cube basket (14) and clean the inside of the machine with a damp cloth. Do
not clean the metal rods at the back of the machine with a cloth. This could damage them,
which would have a detrimental effect on ice production.
Put a little vinegar on the cloth to remove stubborn dirt and deposits. Then rinse the water
reservoir (13) with clean water and allow it to run out through the drain opening (12). Then
wipe out with a damp cloth.
The ice cube basket (14) and the ice cube scoop (8) can be cleaned in warm water with mild
detergent.
