5.2 Grinding the Portions

5.2.1 Grinding with the S-Manuale 64

Grinding starts when the contact spring is being
pressed.
Grinding stops when the portafilter is pulled away
from the spring.
5.2.2 Grinding with the S-Automatik 64 – Operating Modes for Grinding
The S-Automatik 64 offers different operating modes for grinding – according to your demand.
Standard Mode (see chapter 5.2.2.1):
In this mode, you can comfortably grind the programmed portions by shortly depressing the grinding button
only once. Just select the desired portion via the display and start grinding.
Barista-Mode (see chapter 5.2.2.2):
This mode allows you to swap between different shots quickly and easily: Just depress the grinding button
once for a single shot and twice for a double shot. To stop grinding instantly depress the grinding button a
total of three times. For spontaneous manual grinding keep the grinding button presse as long as you would
like to grind.
Manual Mode (see chapter 5.2.2.3):
You can also use the S-Automatik 64 as manual grinder by activating the Manual Mode (Man „On"): Just
press the grinding button until the desired amount of coffee has been ground.
