3. Slide the head slots onto the pins and rotate the
fence down untill it rests on the rails.
4. Lock the fence in place by closing the front and
back latches (m) onto the rails.
Adjusting the fence parallel to the
blade (fi g. 1, 9)
The fence has been factory-set. If you need to
re-adjust, proceed as follows:
• Set the saw blade to its highest position.
• Remove the upper blade guard (g).
• Set the bevel angle to 0°.
• Unlock the rail lock lever (s).
• Move the fence (l) until it touches the blade.
• Check that the fence is parallel to the blade.
• If adjustment is required, proceed as follows:
• Using an Allen key, loosen the fence adjustment
screw (jj) locating the fence to the fence rail.
• Adjust the fence parallel to the blade.
• Tighten the adjustment screw.
• Lock the rail lock lever and check that the fence
is parallel to the blade.
• Be sure to replace the blade guard after the
adjustment.
WARNING: If there is not enough
travel in the pinion bearing assembly,
take the unit to an authorized D
repair agent.
Adjusting the rip scale (fi g. 10)
The rip scale reads correctly only when the fence is
mounted to the right of the blade.
• Check that the rip scale indicator (o) points
to zero on the scale when the fence is just
touching the blade. If the indicator does not
indicate exactly zero, loosen the screws (ll),
move the pointer to read 0 and tighten the
screws.
Bevel stop and pointer adjustment
(fi g. 1, 11, 12)
• Set the saw blade to its highest position.
• Unlock the bevel lock lever (r) by pushing it up
and to the right.
• Loosen the bevel stop screw (mm).
• Place a set square (nn) on the table and up
against the blade (e).
• Adjust the bevel angle using the bevel lock lever
(r) until the blade is flat against the square.
• Tighten the bevel lock lever (r).
• Turn the bevel stop cam (oo) until it firmly
contacts the bearing block.
• Check the bevel angle scale. If adjustment is
required, loosen the pointer screw (pp) and set
the pointer to 0°.
• Tighten the pointer screw (pp).
• Repeat the procedure at 45° for the 45° bevel
stop, but do not adjust the pointer.
• Tighten the bevel stop screw (mm).
Adjusting the mitre fence (fi g. 1, 13)
• Install the mitre fence (y) in the slot to the left of
the blade.
• Loosen the lock knob (qq).
• Place a square (nn) against the miter fence (y)
and the blade (e). Refer to figure 13.
• Check that the pointer (rr) indicates 90° on the
scale. If the pointer does not indicate exactly
90°, loosen the screw (ss), move the pointer to
read 90° and tighten the screw.
OPERATION
Instructions for Use
WARNING: Always observe the safety
WALT
E
instructions and applicable regulations.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of
injury, turn unit off and disconnect
machine from power source before
installing and removing accessories,
before adjusting or changing set-
ups or when making repairs. Be
sure the ON/OFF switch is in the OFF
position. An accidental start-up can
cause injury.
WARNING:
• Ensure the machine is placed
to satisfy ergonomic conditions
in terms of table height and
stability. The machine site shall be
chosen so that the operator has
a good overview and enough free
surrounding space around the
machine that allow handling of the
workpiece without any restrictions.
