3-3.1 INSTALLATION OF REFRIGERANT PIPES
Preparation of copper pipes, proceed as follows:
1. Measure the inner and outer tube accurately.
2. Use a tube slightly longer than the given size.
3. Cut the copper pipes to size with the pipe cutter
and smooth the ends with a flaring tube (Fig. A).
4. Insulate the pipes and insert the conical nuts
before making the collars at the ends of the pipes
(Fig. B).
5. To make the 45 ° conical collars, use a tool for
conical edges (Fig. C).
6. Deburr the inside of the coolant tube.
7. During reaming, the end of the pipe must be
higher than the reamer to prevent dust from
entering the pipe.
8. Make sure that the inside of the tube is clean and
free of processing residues.
9. Check that the conical surface is aligned with the
tube, smooth, free of fractures and with uniform
thickness (Fig. D).
To carry out the refrigeration connections proceed
as follows:
1. Pass the lines, the condensate drain pipe and
the electric cables through the hole made in the
wall, making the ends of the lines coincide with
the connections of the units (the lines are
executed on site, before passing them through
the hole, seal the end with tape to prevent dirt
from entering).

2. Shape the refrigeration lines until they reach the
connections on the outdoor unit.
3. (It is recommended not to make the curves of the
refrigerant lines with a radius less than 100 mm in
order not to crush the pipe section).
4. When the difference in height between the indoor
and outdoor unit exceeds 3 meters (H1 - H2) and
the outdoor unit is placed higher than the internal
one, it is advisable to provide a siphon or a curl
on the gas line to facilitate the return to the
lubricating oil compressor.
5. Before joining the lines with the units, make sure
that the position is the final one.
6. Remove the protections from the ends of the
refrigeration lines.
7. Clean the joint surfaces so as to ensure perfect
contact of the clamping surfaces.
8. Lubricate the connections inside and outside with
a film of engine oil.
9. Connect and tighten the pipes to the outdoor
unit, use a wrench and wrench to avoid twisting
on the carpentry of the machine (Fig. F).
10. Connect and tighten the cooling lines at the
indoor unit, use a wrench and wrench to avoid
twisting on the pipes (Fig. E).
11.Respect the tightening torque indicated in the
table.
