3-1.2 NOTES ON INSTALLATION
1. It is not allowed to use the air conditioner in a
room where there are live flames (eg open flames,
gas or coal stoves)
2. It is not permitted to drill holes or tamper with the
connection pipes.

In the cases of installation of products containing R32 gas, it is always necessary to carry out a check according
to the EN-378 standard, which specifies the requirements relating to the safety of people and property relating
to fixed and mobile refrigeration systems, applied, in this case, to products with A2L category gas.
Thanks to the formula contained in the standard, it is possible to calculate the maximum charge of gas contained
in the air conditioner, according to the surface of the room in which it is installed. The formula is as follows:
M = maximum refrigerant charge [kg]
LFL = Lower Flammability Limit [kg / m3] (R32 LFL = 0.307 which corresponds to 14% of the density of the gas itself.)h = Height of the installed
unit [m] (1.8 m for wall unit; 0.6m for floor; 2.2 ceiling)
A = Surface [m2]
Particular attention must be paid to the value of LFL which represents an important parameter for assessing the
potential danger of an installation: only a concentration of R32 between 14% and 31% with air can become
flammable. Starting from the density of R32 it is therefore possible to calculate the value of 0.307 kg / m3 (i.e.
14% of the nominal density value) contained in the above formula.
Example: For a room of about 16 m2 the maximum admissible R32 charge is 4.1 kg. A 12k BTU / h model has
an R32 gas content of 0.75 kg, a value which even in the event of total loss in the environment will not cause the
lower flammability limit to be reached.
3-2 HYDRAULIC CONNECTIONS AND PRESSURE LIMITS
The hydraulic connections are made to the
connections on the right side of the machine. The
hydraulic connections are marked with a label
indicating the flow: WATER INLET and WATER
OUTLET.
Provide a shut-off valve on the water inlet, use pipes
with an internal diameter corresponding to the
diameter of the condensing unit's connections as
otherwise malfunctions could occur (the warranty is
void if suitable pipes are not used).

3. The air conditioner must be installed in a room
larger than the minimum area. The minimum area
of the room is indicated on the plate or on the
following table 1 referred to the unit positioned
lower (condensing or evaporating).
4. The leak test must be carried out after installation.

The MCW 2.0 unit work without damage with water
inlet pressure between 0.8 and 7 bar. Only for heat
pump units there will be a decrease in thermal
capacity.
If the pressure is between 1 and 2.5 bar, the model
will work in optimal conditions, with the minimum
use of water. If the pressure is between 2.5 and 7
bar, the water consumption will be abnormal and
higher than normal water flow, therefore a pressure
reducer is suggested.
