16. Ongoing operation of the device

Your CATSOMAT is the world's first thermo-electric cooled, individually programmable automatic
feeding device for cats. To ensure operation of the device, it is important that you observe the following
points:
- The lid of the device must be fully locked in and closed, and must not be opened during the
programmed running time (see warning advice below).
- Your CATSOMAT must be in the information-menu mode.
- The feeding mode must be activated.
- There must be an original feeding tray in your CATSOMAT.
- If you have observed all of these points and programmed feeding times, the following will appear in
the display:
If you have also activated the cooling, the display will show a snowflake symbol in addition to the
current temperature. An "H" appears if the pre-warming function is activated.
If you open the lid of your CATSOMAT during ongoing operation, the feeding tray will again
rotate following closure, with compartment 1 facing the opening. Although the feeding times
programmed remain stored in the system, it may be necessary to refill empty compartments.
If the electricity supply is interrupted during ongoing operation, your CATSOMAT will alert you
to this by means of a flashing display. In such cases, the device switches to battery operation
which can bridge up to 100 hours. The data programmed in remains stored in the system
for the duration of the battery operation, thus ensuring continued reliable feeding of your
darling. Only the cooling and the air-extraction/ventilation are deactivated during the power
interruption. As soon as power is restored, your CATSOMAT automatically switches back
to mains operation, the display stops flashing and the cooling is restarted. The integrated
battery is charged up automatically when the device is switched on; when fully discharged,
this process takes approx. 5-8 hours.
The device is not switched off if you remove the plug without operating the on/off switch. The
device can only be switched off using this switch.
