INSTRUCTION MANUAL VOSS.FARMING XTREME DUO RF
2. Connect the grounding post cable to the green connector to test the grounding voltage (14) at
the energiser.
7.4.2 TESTING THE GROUNDING VOLTAGE WHEN FENCE RESISTANCE IS UNDER 500
OHMS
Check the display on the energiser to see whether the fence resistance is less than 500 ohms.
If this is the case, you can read the grounding voltage measurement from the energiser display.
The grounding voltage is shown on the energiser display (see Section 7.4.4)
7.4.3 TESTING THE GROUNDING VOLTAGE WHEN FENCE RESISTANCE IS OVER 500
OHMS
1. Check the display on the energiser to see whether the fence resistance is more than 500 ohms.
If this is the case, then it is necessary to create an artificial ground discharge (short circuit).
2. To create an artificial ground discharge (short circuit), proceed as follows:
• Switch the energiser off.
• Take a metal object that conducts electricity or another grounding post, and drive it into
the ground at a distance of at least 50 m from the energiser, and at least 10 m from the
energiser grounding.
• Connect the grounding post with the conducting material.
• Switch the energiser on.
• Check whether the resistance is <500 ohms. If this is not the case, create additional artificial
ground discharges (short circuits) in your fence system, following the procedure described
above.
3. Check the display on the energiser to see whether the fence resistance is less than 500 ohms.
If this is the case, you can read the grounding voltage measurement from the energiser display.
The grounding voltage is shown on the energiser display (see Section 7.4.4)
4. If the grounding voltage is in the 0–0.20 kV range, switch the energiser off and remove the
artificial ground discharges (short-circuits) from your fence system.

7.4.4 MEASUREMENT VALUES AND WHAT THEY MEAN

Grounding voltage
0–0.20 kV
0.20–0.50 kV
> 0.5 kW
Info
41550 - 11.2021 - V2
Status
OK
Check grounding and, if necessary, add extra
grounding posts to the energiser grounding
Check the grounding posts for corrosion and test
the cable connections
If necessary, add extra grounding posts to the
energiser grounding
If the display shows a dash for the grounding
voltage, this means that no grounding post is
connected to the green connector to check the
grounding voltage (14) and/or the fence resistance
is > 500 ohms.
