To reduce the risks associated with fire and/or explosion:
Do not operate the tool in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids,
l
gases, or dust. The abrasives are able to create sparks when working material, resulting in the ignition
of the flammable dust or fumes.
Make sure tool is in proper working order.
l
Be aware of material grinding on. Refer to SDS of material being worked as to potential for creating
l
fire or explosion hazard.
Do not use on magnesium.
l
To reduce the risks associated with hazardous vibration: Discontinue use of power tool when you are
l
feeling discomfort in your fingers, hands, arms, shoulders, neck, or other parts of your body.
If you experience numbness, tingling, pain, whitening of the skin or any additional hand/wrist discom-
l
fort, work should be stopped promptly to seek medical attention. Overexposure to vibration from re-
petitive work/motion can cause disabling damage to the nerves and blood supply of the hands and
arms.
Hold the tool with a light but safe grip taking account of the required hand reaction forces, because
l
the risk from vibration is generally greater when the grip force is higher.
To reduce the risks associated with hazardous noise:
Unprotected exposure to high noise levels can cause permanent, disabling, hearing loss and other
l
problems such as tinnitus (ringing, buzzing, whistling or humming in the ears).
Always wear hearing protection while operating this tool. Follow your employer's safety policy or local/
l
national standards for personal protective equipment requirements. - Use appropriate controls to re-
duce the work piece vibration. Including but not limited to, damping materials being worked on.
To reduce the risks associated with fly off of abrasive product or plate:
An inadequately tightened abrasive product or plate could cause damage to the tool, product and/or
l
work piece and possible injury to the operator or bystanders.
To reduce the risks associated with skin abrasion, burns, cutting and severing, entrapment or
entanglement:
Keep hands, hair, and clothing away from the rotating part of the tool.
l
Wear suitable protective gloves while operating tool and/or shortly after use.
l
Never install grinding wheels in a tool which is unguarded.
l
Do not touch the rotating parts during operation for any reason.
l
Do not force the tool or use excessive force when using the tool.
l
To reduce the risks associated with entanglement:
Be aware of power cord assembly. Avoid cord entanglement.
l
CAUTION: To reduce the risks associated with fly off of abrasive product or plate:
Use care in attaching abrasive product, mounting hardware, safety features and accessories; following
l
the instructions to ensure that they are securely attached to the tool before use.
Never over-tighten accessory fasteners.
l
Never free spin the tool without inspecting tool, abrasive product, mounting hardware, accessories
l
and safety features.
Do not allow the tool to be started unintentionally.
l
Never point this product in the direction of yourself or another person.
l
To reduce the risk associated with environmental contamination:
Dispose of electronic waste in accordance with all applicable regulations.
l
Dispose of all process dust in accordance with all applicable regulations and/or the material SDS.
l
Dispose of abrasive article in accordance with all applicable regulations.
l
Do not throw electric power tools into the household waste! In accordance with the European Direct-
l
ive 2002/96/CE on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment and transposition into national law,
used electric power tools must be collected separately and recycled in an environmentally friendly
manner.
Separate collection of used products and packaging allows materials to be recycled. Use of recycled
l
materials helps prevent environmental pollution and reduces the demand for raw materials.
