6. maintenance

The installation must be done according to current standards.
Do not forget to put a deaerator or a purger at the top of the primary water tank.
• imPOrtant: at least once a month, it is necessary to put the safety unit into the
draining position for a few seconds: this allows any deposits to be removed, which

in the long term could obstruct the safety valve on the safety unit; failure to respect
this rule can cause damage to the tank (not covered by the warranty).
• Cleaning: to be carried out every year. the cleaning frequency must be adjusted
according to the quality of the fluids carried (hardness of the water) along with the
volume of water consumed. A side access door is provided for cleaning. Replace the
flange seal after every disassembly. Tighten the closing plate respecting the tightening
torque of 9 N.M.
• Cleaning the tanks: the drain pipe placed at the lowest point on the tank allows it to drain
completely.
• Servicing by a specialist: make sure a specialist checks the watertightness and the operation
of the safety valve, especially that on the safety unit, every year. It must start to open under
its calibration pressure and give its full flow rate at a pressure of 0.5 bar upwards.
• Anode: The anodes must be checked every year, and replaced when 3/4 of the magnesium
have been consumed. Anode strings can be purchased if there is a problem with ceiling height.
• If the tank is sitting idle in the winter in an area where it risks freezing, it is imperative that
the water temperature be kept above zero.
For any procedures involving synthetic siliceous mineral fiber components (ceramic
fibers, glass wool, rock wool), operators must wear appropriate attire, complete with
breathing mask, to avoid any risks associated with these products.

7. POssiBLe PrOBLems

• Continuous water flow through the safety unit:
Have the network pressure checked. If it is over 5 bar, have a pressure reducer installed
on the general supply. If the pressure is correct (less than 5 bar), clean the valve on the
safety unit.
• Lack of pressure to the hot water tap:
Extensive scaling: empty the tank, then descale and check the safety unit.
• If continuous emission of steam or boiling water is noticed from the drain or when a draw-
off tap is opened, cut the electric power supply and the exchanger main circuit power
supply. Inform the installer.

8. warrantY

The appliance must be installed by a qualified professional, in accordance with trade
practices, standards and current DTU and according to the provisions of our technical
instructions, including the DTU Plomberie 60.1 additif 4 (NFP 40-201).
It undergoes normal use and is regularly maintained by a specialist.
Under these conditions, the equipment is guaranteed by the 1969 Inter-Union Agreement
between the UCH and the Constructeurs de matériel de chauffage (Heating Equipment
Builders), and according to the conditions of Articles 1641 of the Civil Code.
