9 Maintenance
Always wear protective goggles when cleaning equipment with compressed air to prevent eye injuries.
Certain cleaning agents and solvents damage plastic parts and / or the coating. Some of these are: gasoline,
carbon tetrachloride, chlorinated cleaning solvents, ammonia and household detergents that contain
ammonia.
To continue using the tool in unmaintained condition will permanently damage your tool.
Preventive maintenance performed by unauthorized persons can result in serious hazardous situations. We
recommend having all maintenance work performed by a STEPCRAFT service facility.

9.1 General Maintenance

Prior to commissioning the CNC gantry milling system it has to be ensured that the machine is in a technically perfect
and well-maintained condition. Always ensure that the machine is set currentless if you want to perform adjustment or
maintenance works. For this purpose, disconnect the power plug. Please make sure to set system-guided tools with own
power supply currentless as well! Sharp-edged cutting tools are to be dismounted. Clamped milling tools equal a high risk
of injury. Remove workpieces you have clamped onto the machine table including the individual clamping elements. Only
tools of high quality are to be used.
9.2 Recommended Maintenance Work
Handle your CNC system with care to ensure a long service life. Regular maintenance has a substantial impact on the
service life of your machine. Frequently clean the CNC system with a damp cloth.
We recommend the use of the STEPCRAFT Cleaning Set (EU Item 12391).
9.3 Lubrication of the Guidance and Spindles
The lubrication of the guidance and spindles is to be carried out using the STEPCRAFT authorized
MICROLUBE GL 261 (opt. EU Item 10050, US Item 80149), or comparable lubricants with identical specifications.
Apply the grease to the shown areas. For reference see point 14 of your construction manual. Additionally, we offer video
tutorials on this topic. Lubricate the guidance and spindles before commissioning the machine and later on at least every
20 hours of operation.

9.4 Spare Parts

All parts of the machine and control can be purchased individually as spare parts.
