Use a clean, damp, lint-free and antistatic cloth to clean the device, display and test leads. Allow
the device to dry completely before using it again.
c) Inserting/changing the battery
You will need a 9 V block battery (e.g. 1604A) to operate the device. During the the first start-up
or when the battery level indicator only shows one bar or no bars at all, make sure to insert a
new full battery.
The battery level is indicated as follows:
Proceed as follows to insert or change the batteries:
•
Disconnect the device and the connected test leads from
all measuring circuits. Remove all test leads from your
device and turn it off.

Loosen the screw of the battery compartment cover on
the back of the device (in the middle) and remove the
battery compartment cover from the device.
•
Replace the flat battery with a new one of the same type.
Connect the new battery to the battery clip observing the
right polarity. Pay attention to the polarity. The clip and
the battery only fit together with the correct polarity.
•
Put the battery in the battery compartment and make sure that no cables are pinched. Care-
fully replace the battery compartment cover.
Four bars: the battery is full.
Three bars: the battery is 75% full
Two bars: the battery is 50% full
One bar: the battery only has a remaining capacity of approx. 20%. Make
sure you have a new battery to be promptly exchanged with the old one.
The battery is empty and must be changed immediately. The device ac-
curacy is no longer guaranteed.
