e) Simulation of resistance temperature detectors "RTD"
"RTD" resistance temperature detector mode enables simulation of 4 different resistance tem-
perature detectors. You can choose the following types of detectors:
Pt10, Pt100, Cu50, Cu100
Switch on the device and wait until the operating display appears on the screen.
To switch to resistance temperature detector mode, press the "RTD" button (2). The detector
type is displayed at the bottom left as a small symbol. Each keystroke switches to another type.
The temperature value can be set directly.
The four cursor buttons (5, 6, 12, 13) can be used to set the decimal place and the value. A point
or decimal place advances by briefly pressing the respective button.
The values can be set quickly by pressing and holding the cursor buttons for >1.5 s. The respec-
tive % values are called up (0%, 100% or in 25% increments).
Connect the red test lead to the "RTD" socket (8) and the black test lead to the "COM" socket (9).
Connect the test probes to the sensor input of the circuit.
The red test probe corresponds to the positive pole.
If "LO" or "HI" is displayed as the main display flashes, the excitation current is either
too low (LO) or too high (HI). Check the correct connection or circuit.
The calibrator simulates a 2-wire output. Simulation of a 3- or 4-wire output requires
that the two leads be plugged into the two middle sockets.
