3. Intended use

The TK-1000 temperature calibrator serves as a calibration device for temperature measuring
devices and as a signal transmitter with various sensor parameters. The TK-1000 enables simu-
lation of 10 different thermocouple semiconductor sensors (TC) and 4 resistance temperature
detectors (RTD). Parameters can be set and output as voltage or resistance values or as direct
temperature values. Manual and automatic step and ramp functions enable convenient linearity
tests.
Temperature can be set in both degrees Celsius (°C) and degrees Fahrenheit (°F). Lead resist-
ance can also be compensated for via a 3- or 4-wire measurement (optional).
The device has automatic temperature compensation for precise calibration values.
The product design with double or reinforced insulation conforms to protection class 2. The
outputs must only be connected to voltage-free measuring points and are protected against
safety extra-low voltage up to 30 V. The device is powered by a commercially available 9 V
block battery.
Operation under adverse ambient conditions is not permitted. The device must not be exposed
to adverse environmental conditions such as extreme moisture or humidity, dust and flammable
gases, vapours or solvents, thunderstorms or similar conditions such as strong electrostatic
fields, etc.
Using this product for purposes other than those described above may damage the product and
result in a short circuit, fire or electric shock. The product must not be modified or reassembled!
