7. Operation
Never exceed the maximum permitted input values. Never touch circuits or parts of
circuits when they may contain voltages greater than 33 V/ACrms or 70 V/DC! Fatal
hazard!
a) Setting up the device
The calibrator can be tilted using the stand bracket (11) on the back to enable convenient display
reading and easy operation of the device. When not in use, the stand bracket can be retracted
to save space.
b) Switching on the device
You need to insert the supplied battery before you can operate the device. For more
information on inserting/replacing the battery, see "Cleaning and maintenance".
Use the power button (4) to turn the calibrator on and off. To do this, press and hold this button
for approx. 2 seconds. Always turn the device off when it is not in use. The device has a fac-
tory enabled automatic power-off function, which automatically powers off the device after 30
minutes if no button is pressed.
This automatic power-off can be disabled or set manually from 1 to 30 minutes.
The device conducts a short function test after it is switched on. During the function test, all
symbols will appear on the display. The display then shows the device type, with the automatic
power-off time in minutes displayed in the lower right corner. The normal operating display ap-
pears shortly thereafter.
c) Automatic power-off
The automatic power-off is factory preset to 30 minutes.
Changing the power-off time:

To change the power-off time, turn off the device first.
Press and hold the "100%" cursor button and turn on the device. Keep both buttons pressed
until the device type and the power-off time (factory setting is 30) are displayed with a beep.
