8.2.2 Charging the battery
Before using the product for the first time, charge the battery for at least 8 hours.
To charge the battery, connect a USB power supply (5 V/DC via USB, min. 500 mA) to the USB-C™ port
on the product.
Note:
A fully charged 1x 3.7 V Li-Ion 18650 (2500 mAh) battery has a standby time of approx. 7 days.
9 Switching on and off
1. To switch on, move the switch On/Off to On.
2. After use, move the switch On/Off to Off to switch off.
10 Configuring
Set the temperature display unit as follows:
1. Insert a long and thin object into the opening at the back of the product leading to the mode button.
2. Carefully press the button until the desired unit shows on the display: C (degrees Celsius) or F (de-
grees Fahrenheit).

11.2 Selecting an operating mode
To select a mode:
1. Insert a long and thin object into the opening at the back of the product leading to the mode button.
2. Push the button for about 3 seconds to switch modes. Observe the display while you switch and se-
lect the required mode: working mode (display: bod), counting mode (display: Cou), or surface mode
(display: Sur).

1. Activate the working mode (display: bod).
2. Approach the sensor with the object. Maintain about 5 – 10 cm between object and sensor.

The display shows the measured temperature.

If the indicator lights FLASH RED and an ALARM sounds: the temperature is abnormal (> +37.3
°C). This status will reset after a few seconds.

If the display shows Li (lower end) or Hi (upper end) and an audible alert sounds: the reading is
out of range
11.4 Measuring surface temperature
Measure the surface temperature of an object.

2. Approach the sensor with the object. Maintain about 5 – 10 cm between object and sensor.

11.5 Counting the readings

12 Cleaning and care
Clean the product with a dry, fibre-free cloth.
NOTICE! Do not use aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions as
they can cause damage to the housing and malfunctioning.
