7 Placing and mounting
7.1 Finding a suitable location
Finding a suitable location determines the effectiveness and accuracy of the product.
Select a location that is not directly exposed to air-conditioning and cooling fans.
7.2 Mount using the hanging holes
Using the hanging holes and suitable screws you can hang the product on a wall.
If necessary, drill holes and insert wall plugs. WARNING! Risk of electric shock or injury!
Before drilling, check for concealed wires or pipes beneath the surface.
7.3 Mount on a tripod
Attach the product to a tripod using the tripod thread.
7.4 Mount using the adhesive mounting plate
Using the adhesive mounting plate, you can hang the product on a wall.
To install:
1. Clean the surface to which you intend to stick the mounting plate. Make sure it is free of
grease and oil.
2. Remove the protective backing from the mounting plate.
3. Stick the mounting plate to the surface. Remove any air trapped underneath the plate.
4. Insert suitable screws into the threads in the mounting plate. Make sure they sit tight.
5. Hang the product using the hanging holes in the product casing.
8 Setting up the power supply
You can power the product via battery or a USB power supply.
8.1 Powering via USB
To power the product via USB, connect a USB power supply (5 V/DC, min. 500 mA) to the
USB-C™ port on the product.
8.2 Installing batteries
Note:
If an insulating strip protrudes from the battery compartment, batteries are installed
already. Pull the strip out to establish the power supply.

Prepare the required number of batteries of the correct type as stated in the section
"Technical data".
1. Unlock the battery compartment cover and remove it.
2. Insert the batteries into the battery compartment observing the polarity markings in the
compartment.
3. Attach the compartment cover and lock it. If a seal is present, make sure it sits correctly
and you do not damage it when attaching the cover.
9 Switching on and off
1. To switch on, move the switch On/Off to On.
2. After use, move the switch On/Off to Off to switch off.

To adjust a setting:
1. Press the button SET to enter the configuration mode.
2. Keep pressing the button SET until the display indicator as shown in the above table ap-
pears.
3. Use the navigation button |<< or >>| to adjust settings.
4. Press the button SET to save.
Next: To return to operation mode, keep pressing the button SET until the display leaves the
configuration mode.

11 Measuring temperature

11.2 Selecting an operating mode
To select a mode:
1. Keep pressing the button SET until F2 appears on the display.
2. Use the navigation button |<< or >>| to select a mode: working mode (display: blank),

11.3 Measuring temperature in working mode
11.3.1 Setting the temperature alarm threshold
After setting the temperature alarm threshold an audible alarm sounds when a temperature
reading is equal to or exceeds the threshold.
To set the threshold:
1. Keep pressing the button SET until F3 appears on the display.
2. Use the navigation button |<< or >>| to set the temperature threshold (+37 to +38 °C).
3. Press the button SET to save.
Next: To return to operation mode, keep pressing the button SET until the display leaves the
configuration mode.
11.3.2 Measuring temperature
Measure temperature in the working mode range.
