Changing the grinding tool
Prior to any tool change, switch off
the machine and disconnect it from
the compressed-air network!
Do not leave any wrenches in the
unit!
Before starting work, make sure
that all wrenches are removed and
that the tool is clamped correctly.
Only use properly fitting, undamaged open-end
wrenches to changing the grinding tools because
the collet will be damaged otherwise.
Use the wrenches (H and J) contained with the
accessories to hold the spindle (K) and collet (L)
(right-hand thread) open or closed, respectively
(see Fig. 9:).
In the case of models with a left-handed thread
(SRD 6-18/2 L, SRD 6-30/2 L, SRD 6-45/2 L) refer
to Fig. 10:.

The minimum clamping length of
the tool shaft must never be less
than 10 mm.
In the case of higher working
speeds, the distance between the
collet and grinding tool must be
reduced!

For this special design, screw off the protective
sleeve (right-hand thread) prior to carrying out the
tool change (see Fig. 11:). After screwing off the
protective sleeve, apply the wrench and change
the tool as indicated in Fig. 9:. After changing the
tool, refit the protective sleeve by screwing it on.

Mount the mounting flange so that the recess in the
wrench surface grips into the spindle (see Fig. 12:

Selecting the speed

Please note that the speed of a grinder cannot be
regulated. It is dependent on the device used.

The corresponding set of characteristic curves is
displayed in the diagram (see Fig. 13:).
Proceed as follows to determine what you need:
Starting from the cut diameter [mm] draw a
vertical line to the intersection with the
characteristic curve of the required cutting
speed [m/min].
