3. MECHANICAL INSTALLATION
See the relevant drawings of the mechanical installation at page. 24 - 25 (central sheet to be removed).
3.1 Checking the passage opening (fig.1).
• Check the size of the opening and that it corresponds to the measurements of the door supplied bearing in mind any
tolerances needed if installed within doorway.
• Check that obstacles do not prevent installation of the structure.
• Make sure that the mounting surfaces are level and adjust them using suitably sized spacers if necessary.
• Check the consistency of the opening structure: it must be securely anchored with brackets or plugs. If consistency is poor
or uncertain, a suitable self-supporting metal structure must be provided.
3.2 Fixing the uprights (fig.2).
• Mark the exact position of the uprights on the floor.
• Remove the covers of the uprights and fix the bases according to the marks using special M8 size plugs. (fig.4)
• Plumb the uprights and fix them at the indicated points (A) with external brackets or (B) for fixing from inside column. M8
size plugs. (fig.2)
• Check that the installation is perfectly perpendicular by measuring the diagonals.
3.3 Assembling the crosspiece
• Carefully lift the crosspiece using a forklift truck or other lifting equipment. Make sure that it cannot fall while being lifted
and protect the curtain from being damaged.
• Place the crosspiece on the uprights; reinsert the M8 fixing bolts and tighten them (fig.3). Fix the crosspiece to the wall
correctly and securely using the holes (c). (fig.5)
roller cover box and casing - for doors with PL > 4000, we recommend fastening the crosspiece in the centre (to avoid
unsightly bending of the frame).
3.4 Assembling the gearmotor
for manual operation (if required), insert the device following the indications in (fig.6) for K22 and in (fig.7) for K26.
Connect the safety micro-contact as shown in the diagram and make sure it is working correctly: the micro-contact must
stop motor rotation when manual operation is activated.
• Insert the key (d) into the special slot (e) on the winding shaft (fig.9).
• Slide the gearmotor onto the shaft.
• Fix the gearmotor onto the head (fig.9) using the special fastening.
• Insert the silent block into the special slot (f) on the support plate by placing the components as shown in (fig.10). (g)
washer 13x24 - (h) silent block Ø 25 - (i) washer 14x36 - (m) screw 12x55
• Fix the silent block with nut (l).
3.5 Installing the photocells
• Install the containers in the column covers. For installation and connections, follow the instructions in the photocell package
(fig.11).
3.6 Installing the safety edge
• Place the curtain at a height of approximately 1 m.
• Insert the safety edge into the lower pocket of the curtain, (fig.12).
the side of the edge where the cables come out should be placed in line with the column with the cable chain fastened
inside it.
• Run the edge along the entire length of the curtain and place it in the exact centre of the curtain. The curtain must overlap
the aluminium profile of the safety edge by the same amount on each side.
3.7 Fixing the cable chain to the safety edge
• The cable chain is already in the column with the relative cable, manually check that all the chain links allow the cable
chain to rotate correctly. If there is an obstruction, find the chain links placed the wrong way round and put them into the
correct position.
• Connect the free end of the cable chain to the nylon sliding block of the safety edge, (fig.13).
• Insert the sliding blocks in the aluminium profile and fasten them using the self-tapping screws and placing them on the special
plastic spacers.
• Fix each side of the curtain to the corresponding sliding block using a self-tapping screw (n) (fig.13).
