Cleaning encoder

To avoid damage to the encoder, please pay attention to the following:
– Do not use a high pressure cleaner.
– If the connection has been disconnected, prevent water, dirt or other substances
entering the open parts.
 Clean the encoder with water or a non-corrosive cleaning agent.

Changing blanking plug (if fitted)

On encoder designs with a blanking plug, the blanking plug may come loose due to
vibration. To ensure adequate sealing, a blanking plug that has come loose must be
replaced.
 Remove and dispose of the blanking plug.
 Clean the cover and the thread in the bore using acetone.
Ensure no foreign bodies fall through the hole into the housing.
 Prior to screwing in, clean the new blanking plug and lock the thread using Loctite
243.
 Tighten the blanking plug to maximum 5 Nm.
