REVERSING THE GLAZED SIDE
The Tertio 67 VL1 and 76 VL1 hearths are delivered with the
glazed side on the right.
It is possible to reverse this and mount the glazed side on the left.
WARNING! Be careful not to damage the
combustion air damper on the Tertio 76VL1.
1.
Open the door to approximately 90 ° and take it off its hinges.
2.
Remove the
baffle in the
reverse order
of fitting it.
3.
Remove the
grate held in by
2 screws.
4.
Remove the
hearth plate by
lifting it up and
tilting it down.
5.
Remove the
base plate.
6.
Remove the 2
embellishment
covers at the
rear of the hearth by loosening the screws (M).
7.
Remove the front embellishment cover by loosening the
screws (J)
8.
Remove the galvanized plate from the solid side by loosening
the screws (I).
9.
Remove the base plate supports by loosening the 2 x N°10
screws (K).
10. Remove the solid cast iron side by loosening the 8 x N°8
screws (L). Screws (K) and (L) are accessed from inside the
hearth.
11. In the same way, remove the glazed side (be careful not
disassemble the glass!).
12. Refit the solid cast iron sides and the glass by placing the
glazed side on the left and the solid side on the right. Secure
them using screws (I).
ATTENTION! Check the mounting direction of the sides.
- The solid side has a reinforcing rib that goes at the front of the
hearth. The seals are placed inward.
- The glazed side has several notches (for the hinges or the
lock), which must be positioned correctly.
13. Refit the galvanized plate on the solid side (vent holes facing
down) and the front cover, using the screws (J).

5. CONNECTION
HEARTH VERSION: Fitting the appliance and construction of
the chimney.
Connection to the reserve flue pipe
The connection is covered by DTU 24.1.
Smoke extraction includes the connection pipes and the flue. This
installation has to allow the chimney to be swept and soot removal.
The connection must be made in the same room where the
appliance is located via the most direct route, with no negative
slope and visible along its entire length.
Make the connection using T450 metal flue pipes:
- black sheet metal at least 2mm thick
- enamelled sheet metal at least 0.6 mm thick
- stainless steel at least 0.4 mm thick
- or rigid or flexible multi-fuel flue pipes. This type of pipe has to
pass a technical inspection.
Aluminium, aluminised steel and galvanized steel are not
permitted. Connect the hearth according to one of the diagrams
(**)
If the draught of the flue is greater than 20 Pa (see § 2), the fitting
of a draught regulator is compulsory.
DISTRIBUTION OF HOT AIR
As long as the hood is built according to the corresponding
instructions, convection should be problem-free.
Caution: Any hot air outlet must be at least 30 cm
from the ceiling.
WARNING! If the appliance is equipped with a hot air
distribution system:
-
To channel hot air into adjacent rooms or upstairs,
connect flexible aluminium ducts (not supplied) to
the collars that will be installed on top of the hearth.
Attach the other end of these ducts to a closable
grille (single or double) to adjust the speed of the hot
air, according to installation.
-
Never close all of the grilles at the same time.
-
Heat-insulated ducts should be installed when
passing through cold roof spaces.
-
Limit the number of elbow joints to a minimum and
install the outlets at a level higher than that of the
collars.
-
To improve efficiency, the total length of the
distribution ducts should not exceed 6 metres for
natural convection and 9 metres with forced
convection.
-
The connection slope must be positive along the
entire length.
FORCED CONVECTION
Hot air via natural convection collects on the ceiling. To circulate
the ambient air and obtain a more even air temperature in the
room(s), install a convection accelerator and connect the hot air
ducts to double air grilles.
Install the convection accelerator (optional) prior to fitting the stone
cladding (instructions included in the package).
