Before Grilling

Danger Burning hazard!
Only use the grill with the ash
collection tray pushed in. Do
not pull out the ash collection
tray from the sheet metal hold-
er when it is hot or when there
are still hot embers or charcoal
bits in the tray.
– Keep the charcoal in the small grill
chamber sufficiently away from the
vent slide so as to prevent embers or
hot charcoal from falling out from the
grill chamber.

Do not use any charcoal that
has been pre-treated with flam-
mable liquids. Use only high-
quality pure charcoal or a mix
of charcoal and firewood.
Warning Risk of damage!
To prolong the service life of
the grill, make sure that the hot
charcoal and burning wood do
not come in direct contact with
the grill chamber walls.
– Never rub or scratch the outer case of
the hot grill during the initial pre-firing
procedure.
• Before using the grill for the first time,
smear it with oil and then pre-fire it for
at least 3 hours so as to protect the grill
body from intensive corrosion and to
burn production residues, if any.
Important: Always store the grill in
an oiled condition and covered with a
canvass.
