Data Format
For explanations on the data format required by the LCD please refer to the LCD supplement.
A 2-Byte data set is communicated between STATION and IO extension, which is defined by the
variables EXT_PORT and LED_PORT in the user program. These variables render information on the
actual state of the two 8-bit ports of the I/O terminal. The LED_PORT is only for control of the LEDs,
the EXT_PORT is brought out.
The following functions are assigned to the bits:
LED_PORT:
Bit 0: LED 1 red
Bit 1: LED 1 green
Bit 2: LED 2 red
Bit 3: LED 2 green
Bit 4: LED 3 red
Bit 5: LED 3 green
Bit 6: LED 4 green
Bit 7: LED 5 green
Warning:
Please bear in mind that the LED is turned on, if the associated bit is 0.
EXT_PORT:
Every bit b0-b7 is assigned to the associated port P1-P8.
