17.0 - WORKING SPEED

The working speed can range from 1 to 3 km/h according to the type of soil.
Soft soil: higher speed.
Compact or heavy soil: lower speed.
The operator must find the working speed which allows optimum cleaning of the
tubers.

18.0 - CONVEYOR DISCS

Setting the discs at the correct depth (reference 5, page 26) enables you to cut grass
and foliage without clogging the discs. It also facilitates the flow of potatoes on the
sieve. We recommend a cutting depth of 5 - 10 cm.

19.0 - SIEVES

In order to separate the soil from the tubers as effectively as possible, the sieve must
be at a sufficient height above the ground to allow the separated soil to fall out.
19.1 - Model SP.50
Use the side adjustment devices to alter the distance of the sieve from the ground
(fig. 11.A).
19.2 - Model SP.100
To alter the distance of the end of the sieve from the ground, raise or lower the RH
arm of the tractor's hydraulic lifting unit by turning the handle.
Inclining the sieve results in more effective separation of the earth from the tubers.
Inclining the sieve too much impedes the exit of the tubers.

20.0 - WORKING ON A GRADIENT

Warning: do not use the potato-harvester on gradients exceeding 15°.
On gradients, the machine
must be used as follows.
20.1 - SP.50 It is preferable to
work uphill (directly or
diagonally).
20.2 - SP.100 It is preferable
to work uphill (directly or
diagonally) with the sieves
facing downhill.
