Preliminary steps

First-time operation

When you switch your TV on for the first time or
after retrofitting a satellite tuner and/or DVB
decoder, automatic programming is initiated.
First you must choose the menu language for
your TV set. Then specify which antennae you
have connected to your TV set and in which
country you are operating the set.
Use the arrows on the
navigation ring to select the

settings ...

Select the unit in the menus corresponding
to your satellite antenna.
Ask your satellite antenna installer, if
necessary!
If your TV set is fitted with twin-SAT (2 satellite
antenna sockets) and only one satellite antenna
connection is available at present, set the
following in the "Connect antennae" menu:
"Sat A/D yes" and "Sat no".
In the case of a satellite antenna with twin-LNC
(2 antenna cables) you should choose "Sat A/D
yes" and "Sat yes".

Connect antennae
Your TV set automatically searches and stores
all programs. To do this, please connect your
antenna(e)

The TV set is preprogrammed for analog TV
programs on the ASTRA, HOTBIRD (Eutelsat)
and TELECOM 2B satellites and analog radio
programs on ASTRA and HOTBIRD.
If the set is fitted with a DVB decoder, it is also
preprogrammed for the digital TV and radio
programs on the ASTRA and HOTBIRD
satellites.
If you check "yes" in the "Use satellite
preprogramming" menu, a factory-stored
program list is copied. This gives you quick
access to the stored programs.
If you also wish to store terrestrial programs
which can be received via the antenna or the
cable network, then also check
"VHF/UHF yes".
Once you have answered all the questions for
automatic programming, your settings are
displayed.
Check that everything is correct.
If you wish to change a setting, call up the
"Connect antennae" menu again by pressing
the M key and then make the settings again.
When this is complete, press the OK key to
start programming.
The TV set searches, sorts and stores all the TV
programs which can be received.
Once programming is complete, the program

• Satellite programs are stored with the
standard parameters when automatic
programming is used. If you can hear two
languages, e.g. English and German, on one
program or can hear one language on one
sound channel and only random noise on
the other, the sound selection must be
carried out in the "Sound carrier" menu
(see "Manual settings for analog satellite
programs").
• If a pay-TV decoder is connected, other
parameters such as "Clamping" or
"Deemphasis" and "Amplitude" may have
to be adapted.
• With a twin-satellite tuner no further
programming is necessary!
