Setting video parameters

You should only change these settings if you
know the transmission modalities of the
satellites and the technical specifications of the
pay-TV decoder.
You access the video parameters via: "TV menu
– Settings – Stations – Manual adjustment –
other – Video parameters".
• Under "Amplitude" you normally set
"Automatic".
It may be necessary to set a different
amplitude figure, ranging from 1 to 7, to
ensure a good picture with encrypted
programs.
• "Clamping": under normal circumstances
"Clamping on" must be set. However, some
pay-TV decoders require an unclamped
video signal. In that case set "Clamping off"
(the picture flickers without the decoder).
• "Deemphasis": under normal
circumstances "Deemphasis on" must be
set. Some pay-TV decoders require the
broadband signal to decode pay-TV
programs. In that case set "Deemphasis
off".
• "Polarity": programs can be transmitted
with positive or negative polarity by
satellites. Most satellites transmit programs
with positive polarity. Some satellites in the
4 GHz range transmit with negative polarity.
If the incorrect polarity is set, the picture is
negative and distorted or it flickers!

Storing settings:
Press the red key.
The program preview is
displayed. A program or a
program number is checked.
You now have two options for storing:
1. If you have edited settings in an already
stored station, you "overwrite" the old
settings by pressing the red key.
2. You can "add" the program to the program
list by pressing the yellow key.

satellite radio programs
Many satellite programs broadcast radio
stations in addition to TV sound. These are
transmitted in stereo or mono on further sound
carrier frequencies.
Radio programs are or will be stored in their
own program list.
How to set satellite radio programs:
Call up "Radio mode".

If radio programs are stored, you will hear the
last program selected.
Caution: If radio shutdown is active and you
do not press any key or call up any further
function after displaying the "Radio mode"
menu, the screen will be blanked after approx..
20 seconds.

You are shown a preview of the set's location,
search scope and in which program place
onwards the programs will be stored.
You can select and start
automatic or manual
radio program search in
this menu after making
appropriate settings in
this following menus.
