1-5. Functional Safety

Th is product is a functional safety magnescale which is compliant with EN 61800-5-2:Ed. 2.0: 2016 /
IEC 61508:2010 / IEC 62061:2005 SC3 SIL 2 and EN ISO 13849-1:2015 Cat.3 / PL d.
Behavior of the product when a fault arises.
Dangerous fault : An error
Safe state
: Th e product sends the alarm information to the controller via the DQ100, holds
the alarm information, and shift s to a safe state.
Recovery process : When the magnescale trouble is resolved, normal communication is restored
immediately aft er the product receives the Alarm Reset signal from the
controller. Otherwise, the alarm is held.
(*1) : Th e error position information described here is a threshold value which is considered as a dangerous
fault value in terms of functional safety and is not the accuracy of the product. As for the accuracy
of the product, see Section 6. "Specifications."
Th e product is maintenance-free and it is not necessary to replace the parts periodically.
