Electronic function
T he tool is e q uipped w ith the electronic functions for
eas y operation.
• Acti v e Feed b ack sensing T echnolog y
If the tool is s w ung at the predetermined accelera-
tion during operation, the motor is forci b l y stopped
to reduce the b urden on the w rist.
NOTICE:
Hold the tool firmly while operating.
NOTICE:
If an y malfunction occurred w ith the
electronic function, the light b links for 3 seconds,
and then, turns off. In that case, contact w ith Makita
Authorized or Factor y S er v ice C enters to repair.
NOTE: T his function does not w ork if the acceleration
does not reach the predetermined one w hen the tool
is s w ung.
NOTE: If the tool is forci b l y stopped, release the
s w itch trigger, and then pull the s w itch trigger to
restart the tool.
ASSEMBLY
CAUTION:
Al w ays be sure that the tool is
s w itched off and the battery cartridge is removed
before carrying out any w ork on the tool.

T urn the slee v e counterclock w ise to open the chuck
jaws. Place the driver bit/drill bit in the chuck as far
as it w ill go. T urn the slee v e clock w ise to tighten the
chuck. T o remo v e the dri v er b it / drill b it, turn the slee v e
counterclock w ise.

Installing side grip ( auxiliary handle)

Al w a y s use the side grip to ensure operating safet y .
Install the side grip so that the protrusions on the arm fit
in the groo v es on the tool b arrel. T urn the grip clock w ise
to secure it. The grip can be fixed at desired angle.
Adjustable depth rod

The adjustable depth rod is used to drill holes of uniform
depth. Loosen the clamp scre w , set to desired position,
then tighten the clamp scre w .
Installing hook
CAUTION:
secure it with the screw firmly. If not, the hook
ma y come off from the tool and result in the personal
injury.

T he hook is con v enient for temporaril y hanging the tool.
T his can b e installed on either side of the tool. T o install
the hook, insert it into a groo v e in the tool housing on
either side and then secure it w ith a scre w . T o remo v e,
loosen the scre w and then take it out.

Fit the dri v er b it holder into the protrusion at the tool foot
on either right or left side and secure it w ith a scre w .
When not using the dri v er b it, keep it in the dri v er b it
holders. Dri v er b its 4 5 mm - long ( 1 - 3 / 4 " ) can b e kept
there.
