2. INSTALLATION

2.3 Power Supply

1. A sufficient power supply of the system must be ensured
a) The system must be connected to the 12/24-V onboard electric system.
- The voltage must be at least 9 V
- The voltage must never exceed 32 V
- The needed amperage is <1A
b) The minimum cross-section of the wires connecting the satellite system to the power supply is 0,75 mm².
c) When connecting to the on-board voltage via existing lines, make sure that large consumers or strong sources
of interference are not connected to the same lines.
The power line must be protected on the battery side by a fuse rated with 3 Amps.
2. Power supply in camper trailers
In camper trailers, a reliable or battery-supported 12-V power supply is often not available. In this case, the
system must be supplied with power from the mains grid via a suitable 220 V/12 V power converter.
Do not use any battery chargers, simple transformers or unregulated power converters. Only electronically
regulated fixed-voltage converters with a rated voltage of 12V to 24V and a minimum continuous power output
of 1 Amp must be used.

2.4 Mobile Operation

Your Oyster® Connect can be operated while driving. Therefor we recommend switching the router to LTE mode.
Please note that in some vehicles the voltage in the habitation area can be switched off completely while driving.
In this case the Oyster® Connect is also out of order.
Please do clarify this with your installer!
