11 Repairing the coolant pump

11.1 Replacing the pump springs

Ø Remove caps.
Ø Remove the screws beneath the caps.
Ø Pull upper part of pump towards you and off.
Ø Pull pump rotor towards you and off as well.
Ø Replace springs
The springs can be ordered from the manufacturer as
article no. GD412212.
Ø To reassemble the pump, follow the procedure above
in the reverse order.

11.2 Replacing the pump motor

Ø Remove upper part of pump and rotor, see Replacing
the pump springs.
Ø Remove caps.
Ø Position lever as shown in the illustration above.
Ø Remove screws
Ø Pull motor away from you.
Ø Unsolder pump cable (can be ordered from the
manufacturer as article no. GA835825).
Ø Solder pump cable to replacement motor GD412221,
see Wiring diagram.
Ø To mount replacement motor and pump, follow
procedure above in reverse order. In doing this, make
certain that the washer and seal between the pump
housing and pump motor are seated properly.
