1- WARNING

Transport
For information regarding the delivery of condensing units,
please refer to our sales terms and conditions.

Installation

- This condensing unit and all related equipment must be
installed by qualified staff.
- The installation should be carried out in accordance with the
relevant refrigeration and electrical standards which apply in
that country. Refrigeration best practice must befollowed.
- TECUMSEH EUROPE S.A.S shall not under any circumstance
be liable if the installation and maintenance are not carried
out in accordance with the instructions given in this manual.

2- TECHNICAL DATA

■ 2.1. Identification label for the Silensys
See Appendix 1 bis
■ 2.2. Safety devices
All units are supplied with an adjustable HP / LP pressure
switch, with a 16 A maximum current rating and a isolator
lockable in the ON or OFF position as well as a thermal breaker
on the power circuit.
■ 2.3. Versions and options available
HP / LP pressure switch with manual reset.
■ 2.4. Refrigeration schematic
See Appendix 2
3- INSTALLATION
■ 3.1. Unpacking
Before unpacking the unit, check that the packaging has not
been damaged in any way and that the exterior is in good
condition.
■ 3.2. Handling
The packaged condensing unit can be lifted by forklift or pallet
truck. The unit should therefore be kept in its packaging until it
has been moved to the installation site.
Once the packaging has been removed, Silensys® units can be
moved or lifted either by forklift or straps according to the
model. Units must not be dragged into position.
■ 3.3. Location
Silensys® condensing units should not block or obstruct
thoroughfares, doors, shutters or the movement of personnel.
The surface supporting the condensing unit must be level and
capable of bearing the combined weight of the unit + support.
See table in Appendix 1, for condensing unit weights.
Ensure there is sufficient distance between the condensing
unit and objects in the surrounding area to ensure good air
circulation.
See Appendix 3
Silensys® condensing units must be installed in well-ventilated
but not windy locations. Ensure there is good air circulation to
the condenser. There must be no obstacles in front or to the
side of the unit which would cause air recirculation to the
condenser. This will avoid among others an abnormally high
condensation temperature. The unit must be set up in a level
position. For units installed at high altitude, it is necessary to
take into account the effect of the density of the air.

| Installation Instructions

■ 3.4. Noise levels
Silensys® condensing units have been designed to operate
extremely quietly.
Precautions must be taken during installation to avoid
generating additional noise and vibrations:
- Units must be securely mounted on a stable, rigid base,
- Connecting pipework must be sufficiently flexible to ensure
vibration is not transmitted to the rest of the installation.
We sometimes recommend isolating material be inserted
between the unit feet and the base or between the wall
mounting brackets and the wall. This can be either an isolating
pad or anti- vibration mounts (not supplied) conforming to the
manufacturer's recommendations for their selection and
installation. The selection of any anti-vibration products and
their potential for absorbing vibration is not the responsibility
of Tecumseh.
■ 3.5. Mounting (1 or 2 options according to
range
®
model)
The unit must be installed and affixed on a level plane.
Ensure the unit is securely fixed to the type of floor or wall
surface upon which it is mounted using the appropriated
fixings (not supplied).
- Floor mounting
Do not use wooden beams as a base onto which the product is
fixed. Create a concrete base strong enough to support the
load and vibration. Use fixing bolts which are of an appropriate
length and are capable of securing the productcorrectly.
Use the mounting kit supplied with the condensing unit.
- Wall mounting (single fan models only)
Use the mounting kit supplied with the condensing unit.
Secure the product appropriately.
Make sure that the wall bracket supports at least 250 kg pull-out
at the attachment point.
■ 3.6. Access to connections
■ 3.7. Refrigeration connections
To ensure the quality of our products, the condensing unit has
been dehydrated and charged with nitrogen.
On models fitted with suction tube diameter 1 1/8 or 1 3/8 the
suction line from the valve to the end of the tube is not under
nitrogen (the suction line is plugged and the valve closed).
