6 Help

6.1 Firebox lining

The lining of your fireplace insert is made of Keramott, a high-quality material with special combustion
properties and an attractive appearance. This refractory lining may show superficial hairline cracks
during or after operation, but these do not affect its function. Such parts do not need to be replaced!

6.2 Procedure in the event of a chimney fire

If the incorrect fuel is used or if the fuel is too moist, a chimney fire can occur due to deposits in the
chimney.
Call the fire department and the district chimney sweep!
Close the combustion air.
Allow access to the cleaning apertures (e.g. cellar and attic).
Remove all flammable materials from the chimney.
Inform your district chimney sweep before putting your fireplace insert back into operation and have your
chimney checked for possible damage.

7 Procedure in the Event of Defects

Should any defects become apparent on the fireplace insert, your dealer will require the following data:
- Serial number and appliance model as indicated on the type plate
- Original invoice (date of sale).
1.)

8 What to Do if ...?

... the fire smoulders or goes out of its own accord?
Is the damper flap open?
Is the heating flap in the correct position (if a secondary heating surface is fitted)?
Is the air control open (+)?
Are you using dry wood?
Is the outside temperature too high (>15C°)?
... the room does not get sufficiently warm?
Are the convection air grilles open?
Does the heating flap conduct the heating gases over the secondary heating surfaces?
Is the chimney draught too high?
... the fire burns down too quickly and uncontrolledly?
Has the combustion air supply been restricted (+ / -) after reaching the operating
temperature in the firebox?
Are the seals on the inside of the doorframe intact throughout?
Is the firebox door properly closed?
Is the chimney draught too high?
... the ceramic glazing becomes sooty very quickly?
Gradual sooting of the panes after 8 to 10 hours of heating is normal.
Was dry, natural wood used?
Was the fireplace insert brought to operating temperature?
