3 Important Information

3.1 General safety instructions

•
Please note that the surfaces of the fireplace insert heat up considerably during operation. When
operating the fireplace insert, we recommend using the protective gloves provided. Warn children of
this danger and keep them away from the fireplace during operation.
•
It is forbidden to place non-heat-resistant objects on or near the heater. This also applies to clothes
horses -> fire hazard.
•
When operating your heater, it is forbidden to handle highly flammable and explosive materials in the
same or adjacent rooms.
•
To avoid heat accumulation in the appliance, the hot air grilles must not be closed during heating
operation.
•
Fireplace inserts, tested according to type A1 (see 9.2. Technical Data), are equipped with a self-
closing firebox door. This means that operation with an open firebox door is not permitted. To add
wood, the hinged door must be held open against the tensioning force of the spring, or the
automatically descending sliding door must be kept open and must not be blocked by means of
clamping devices.
•
Only spare parts expressly approved or offered by the manufacturer may be used. If necessary, please
contact your specialist dealer. Non-observance may result in loss of warranty!

3.2 Safety distance

•
Inflammable objects must not be placed within the radiation range of the fireplace insert up to a
distance of ... (see 9.2. Technical Data), measured from the front edge of the firebox opening.

4 Service & Cleaning

4.1 Service

•
The fireplace insert and hot gas flues (if available) must be cleaned at least once a year to ensure
economical and flawless operation. Ceramic and metal hot gas flues are to be cleaned via the cleaning
apertures provided for this purpose. Any necessary work should be carried out by the manufacturer of
the appliance or a suitable specialist company. It is recommended that a maintenance contract be
concluded to cover these services.
•
The chimney must also be cleaned regularly by the district chimney sweep. He will provide information
on how frequently this should be scheduled.
