Device description
The SaneoSPORT muscle training device
The SaneoSPORT uses two types of treatment that have been
GB
scientifically approved in medicine for more than 40 years:
EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) and TENS (Transcutaneous
Electrical Nerve Stimulation).
EMS is primarily used in rehabilitation as a very effective therapy.
It is a method that addresses specific muscle groups using electri-
cal pulses. It is used to prevent muscle wasting and to rebuild and
relax muscles together with other methods.
Muscle activity is usually triggered by a transmission command
from the brain. A pulse is sent via the spine to the responsible nerve
pathway using an electrical signal. This signal reaches the nerve
fibres of the muscle, so that the pulse ultimately causes the muscle
to tension.
The EMS artificially stimulates the muscle through electrical pulses,
e.g. at low frequency, that activate nerves that lie under the skin,
which in turn address the associated muscle groups.
TENS is used for effective treatment of acute and chromic pain.
Depending on the stimulation frequency, electrical pulses cause
release of substances in the body that reduce pain or block trans-
mission of pain to the brain.
