Internet Radio Receiver
These instructions are intended for users with-
out any specific technical knowledge To set
up the unit, users should be familiar with the
basic settings of their Internet router
Please read these instructions carefully
prior to operation and keep them for later
reference

1 Applications

The Internet radio receiver WAP-202 allows
to access thousands of radio stations and
podcasts worldwide via the Internet Spe-
cific station names, genres or locations can
be searched The connection to the Internet
router can be established via cable (LAN) or
via wireless LAN
In addition, the unit offers the following fea-
tures:
– Reception of FM stations and digital radio
stations (DAB / DAB+)
– Replay of audio files on a USB storage me-
dium or a media server in the local network
(e g computer)
– Replay of Bluetooth sources
– Replay of an audio source connected (e g
MP3 player)
– Two alarm clocks that can be individually
set
– Sleep timer function
– Possibility to control the unit by means
of a smartphone or tablet via the app
UNDOK™ (available free of charge)
– Multi-room support

1.1 Conformity and approval

Herewith, MONACOR INTERNATIONAL de-
clare that the product WAP-202 complies with
the directive 2014 / 53 / EU The EU declaration
of conformity is available on the Internet:
www monacor com
The product is generally approved for opera-
tion in EU and EFTA countries It is licence-free
and requires no registration

2 Safety Notes

The unit corresponds to all relevant directives
of the EU and is therefore marked with
WARNING The unit uses dangerous mains
The unit is suitable for indoor use only Pro-
tect it against dripping water, splash water
and high air humidity The admissible ambi-
ent temperature range is 0 – 40 °C
Do not place any vessels filled with liquid
on the unit, e g a drinking glass
The heat produced inside the unit must
be dissipated by air circulation; therefore,
never cover the air vents
Immediately disconnect the mains plug
from the socket
1 if the unit or the mains cable is visibly
damaged,
2 if a defect might have occurred after the
unit was dropped or suffered a similar
accident,
3 if malfunctions occur
In any case the unit must be repaired by
skilled personnel
Never pull the mains cable to disconnect
the mains plug from the socket, always
seize the plug
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth; never
use water or chemicals
No guarantee claims for the unit and no
liability for any resulting personal damage
or material damage will be accepted if the
unit is used for other purposes than orig-
inally intended, if it is not correctly con-
nected or operated, or if it is not repaired
in an expert way
If the unit is to be put out of opera-
tion definitively, dispose of the unit
in accordance with local regulations

3 Before Operation

3.1 Setting up and
connecting the unit
The unit can be installed into a rack (482 mm /
19") by means of its mounting brackets For
rack installation, 1 RS (rack space = 44 45 mm)
is required However, the unit can also be
placed as a tabletop unit
Prior to connecting / disconnecting, switch off
all units involved
1) Connect the RCA jacks LINE OUTPUT to
the line input of an amplifier (or a different
subsequent unit such as an active speaker
system, mixer)
2) For replay via headphones, connect the
headphones to the 3 5 mm jack
front side of the unit The output LINE
OUTPUT will be deactivated
CAUTION Never adjust the headphones
to a very high volume Per-
manent high volumes may
damage your hearing! Your
ear will get accustomed to
high volumes which do not
seem to be that high after
some time Therefore, do not
further increase a high vol-
ume after getting used to it
3) For FM and DAB reception, connect a
corresponding antenna to the jack FM
ANTENNA If the reception conditions are
good, the wire antenna supplied (
may be used
4) The line output or headphone output of
an audio player (e g CD player or MP3
player) can be connected to the 3 5 mm
jack AUX INPUT
5) Integrate the unit into a local network that
is connected to the Internet via a router
For cable connection to the local network,
use the jack LAN For wireless connection,
screw the wireless LAN antenna supplied
onto the connection WLAN ANTENNA

6) For power supply, use the mains cable
supplied to connect the mains jack
"230 V~ / 50 Hz" to a mains socket As
an alternative or as a precaution against
power failure, operate the unit with a DC
voltage of 15 V via the screw terminals
"15 V ⎓ " (always observe the polarity
when connecting!)
