Safety Instructions
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe these safety
instructions! We do not assume any liability for any resulting damage!
We shall not accept liability for damage to property or personal injury caused by incor-
rect handling or non-compliance with the safety instructions. The warranty will be null
and void in such cases.
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is inadmissible because of
safety and approval reasons (CE). Never dismantle the product.
• The product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children. It should be operated
out of the reach of children.
• The product meets the IP65 standards and can thus be used indoors and outdoors. However,
never mount the camera in or under water; this will destroy the device.
• The camera is only intended to be used with a stabilised direct current of 12 V/DC. The inner
contact of the round plug should be Plus/"+", the outer contact Minus/"-".
• The use of this camera does not replace the personal supervision of children or people who
require special assistance, but only serves as a support to this supervision.
• The camera should not be exposed to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong vibrations
or heavy mechanical stress.
• Do not use the camera in rooms or under adverse ambient conditions where combustible gases,
vapours or dust are or may be present! There is a risk of explosion!
• Make sure that the connection cable is not being pinched or damaged by sharp edges.
• If the camera is used with other devices (e.g. a monitor), the operating instructions and safety
notices for these devices must be followed as well.
• Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental drops, even
from a low height.
• Do not leave packing materials unattended. They may become dangerous playthings for chil-
dren.
• A safe operation can no longer be assumed, if:
- the device is visibly damaged,
- the device no longer works
- the device was stored for a longer period of time in unfavourable conditions
- it was exposed to heavy loads during transport
• On industrial sites, the accident prevention regulations of the association of the industrial work-
ers' society for electrical equipment and utilities must be followed.
• If you have any questions that are not answered in this manual, please contact our technical
service or another specialist.
Connection
The camera is equipped with a connection cable with two connectors at the end. These two connectors are
not waterproof or water resistant; they must lie in a location that is protected against moisture!
• BNC connector: With this the video signal (PAL) is available. Use an adapter if you do not have a BNC
cable for this connection.
• Circular jack: The external power supply is to be connected to this jack. Be sure to use only a stabilised
power supply unit with an output voltage of 12 V/DC (direct current) (see section "Technical Data" at the end
of the operating manual).
Pay attention to the correct polarity of the connector for the power supply (inner contact = plus/+,
outer contact = minus/-); otherwise the camera will be damaged; loss of warranty!
Set the correct input channel at the display device to display the camera image.
Installation
www.conrad.com
The camera can be mounted with the included ceiling/wall mount. Alternatively, it can also be installed hidden
directly in a wall; the two eccentric rings allow an alignment of the camera.
Version 04/11
°
When selecting a site of installation, make sure that the camera will not be facing directly into a bright light
source or in the direction of the sun; this leads to an overmodulated picture. Moreover, we recommend that
you mount the camera in a location protected from precipitation, since raindrops can lead to a distorted image.
Application of the included ceiling/wall mount
With this mount, the camera can be secured, for example, to a room ceiling or wall. You will find the corre-
sponding tripod thread on the rear end of the camera. The fixing rings on the external thread of the camera
are not necessary and can either be tightened or completely removed.
Installation in a wall
To secure the camera inconspicuously, e.g. in a wall or ceiling panel, a hole with a diameter of approx. 26 mm
is required.
The camera can be directed toward the desired observation area by means of the two eccentric rings.
Cleaning
Clean the camera of dust and dirt occasionally. Use a clean, soft cloth. Do not press on the object lens too
hard; this may cause scratches.
Tips and guidelines
• Install the camera so that it cannot be reached without using auxiliary means.
The same applies to the connection cables. Ideally, they should be installed using a plastic or metal pipe.
• Increased cable lengths result in deterioration of the video signal. In this case, use an appropriate amplifier.
If the cable used to supply the power is too long, the voltage will drop, and thus the operating voltage for the
camera is no longer sufficient. This may lead to stripes in the image or to a signal loss. If necessary, use a
cable with a larger cross-section to reduce the voltage drop.

Make sure when screwing into place or when drilling holes that cables or wires are not damaged.
Depending on the tilt of the camera, the hole in a wall or ceiling panel must be reworked so that
the camera can be mounted at an angle. Depending on the installation location, an appropriate
silicon sealing compound should be used for waterproofing.
