Individualisation
Step 1:
Separate the body and spine from one
another, unroll the bottom band and
locate the number markings along the
bottom and top edge of the body piece.
Step 2:
Locate the patient's ankle circumference
measurement amongst the printed
numbers along the bottom edge. Then,
locate the patient's calf circumference
measurement amongst the printed
numbers along the top edge of the
garment.
Step 3:
Take the spine and place the bottom left
edge on the appropriate number. Take
the top top left edge of the spine and
place it on the appropriate number.
Adjust the center spine tab to create a
smooth spine curve.
Note:
There is no one correct spine shape. The
garment may not lay flat once the spine
has been set. This is to be expected when
dealing with more extreme spine angles.
If there is a large difference between the
two circumferences, the spine may not
reach both the bottom and top edges of
the body piece. In this case, center the
spine.
When dealing with more extreme spine
angles, excess material sticking out
beyond the top of the spine piece can be
trimmed.
Step 4:
With the spine in place, fold over the
spine bands exposing the body piece.
Cut the excess material from the body
piece leaving approximately 5 cm of
overlap. Be sure not to cut any other part
of the garment.
Note:
If desired, attach the separate hook tab
stays along the spine for additional
adhesion.
Tip:
You may also trace the spine to easily
reattach it in its original position in the
unlikely event of the spine becoming
detached.
Step 5:
If the lower leg component is too long
for the patient, it can be trimmed by 3
cm. Trim along the indicated cut line on
the black side of the material. Trim both
the body and the spine portion.
Donning instructions
Step 1:
If the foot or toes require any bandaging,
apply prior to donning the undersleeve
and legging.
