Basic safety notes

Intended use

The Geberit electrofusion machine ESG light may only be used for
welding:
• Geberit electrofusion sleeve couplings ø 40–160 mm with Geberit
PE and Geberit Silent-db20 pipes and fittings
• Geberit electrofusion tapes for anchor point ø 50–315 mm with
Geberit PE pipes and fittings
The Geberit electrofusion machine ESG light is exclusively intended
to be used in accordance with these operating instructions. Other
uses are deemed to be improper and can lead to serious injury or
death.
The Geberit electrofusion machine ESG light may not be connected
to a public power supply system except with the approval of the
power supplier.

User qualifications

Without suitable training, users cannot detect or may incorrectly
estimate the hazards presented by the electrofusion machine. They
are therefore at risk of seriously injuring themselves or others.
• Skilled persons qualified in pipe installations only may be permitted
to use the electrofusion machine.
• Users must be conversant with and apply country-specific safety
regulations.
• Users working with the electrofusion machine for the first time must
have been instructed by an expert in the safe handling of the
electrofusion machine or have attended a specialist course.
• This machine may be used by children as well as persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or a lack of
experience with and knowledge about the machine, provided that
they are supervised or taught how to use the machine safely and
that they understand the hazards that may result from this. Children
