Problem
Espresso is leaking
from the top of the
portafilter (e).
Milk frothing does not
work.
During brewing, both
LED rings around the
one-cup button (14)
and the two-cups
button (15) alternately
flash red.
All LED rings pulse
red twice after being
switched on.
All LED rings pulse
red during operation.
Water is leaking from
the Espresso Machine
The red float
gauge (6) is sticking
out.
There is a very loud
noise when grinding.
The grinder is no
longer working.
Possible cause
Ground espresso is on
the edge of the porta-
filter holder for brewing
(16).
The milk pitcher is too
large or has unsuitable
shape.
You have used
skimmed milk.
The ground espresso
is ground too finely and
the water cannot flow
through it.
The Espresso Machine
must be descaled.
There is not enough
water in the water tank
(2).
The water tank is not
inserted correctly.
The drip tray (5) is too
full.
The espresso machine
is malfunctioning.
The drip tray (5) is full.
Foreign bodies are
blocking the grinder.
The overheating protec-
tion of the grinder was
triggered by too long,
uninterrupted grinding.
Solutions, tips
Clean the portafilter holder and the porta-
filter.
Use the milk pitcher included in the pack-
age contents or a tall, narrow container.
Use milk with a fat content of 1.5% or
3.5%. The milk should be well chilled.
Grind new ground espresso with a coars-
er grind (see „Making espresso" on page
EN-13).
Descale the Espresso Machine (see „Des-
caling the appliance" on page EN-19).
Fill the water tank with fresh tap water.
Reposition the grinder correctly.
Empty the drip tray.
Contact our service team (see page
EN-23).
Empty the drip tray.
Remove the grinder and clean it (see
„Cleaning the grinder" on page EN-17).
Let the grinder cool down.
