7. Push the portafilter slightly towards the
machine.
The grinder will then switch on and the
ground espresso will trickle down into the
filter insert.
8. Grind
– 13–15 g of ground espresso for one cup;
– 20–22 g of ground espresso for two
cups.
9. Remove the portafilter and press the
ground espresso down with the tam-
per (c) (15–20 kg pressure).

10. From below, press the portafilter against
the portafilter holder for brewing (16).
The handle must be positioned below
the 'Unlock' marking.

11. Turn the portafilter to the right until it
stops. The handle is now positioned be-
low the 'Lock' marking.
12. Place the espresso cup(s) below the
portafilter on the drain grid (7).
13. Press the one-cup button (14) to make
one cup of espresso.
Press the two-cups button (15) to make
two cups of espresso.
The espresso will slowly flow into the
cup(s). It should take 20–30 seconds to
brew one cup of espresso and 25–35
seconds for two cups.
Keep an eye on the manometer (13)!
If a value between 9 and 12 bar is dis-
played, the degree of grinding and the
amount of ground powder were just
right.
If the pressure was too low, select a finer
degree of grinding the next time.
If the pressure was too high, select a
coarser degree of grinding.
14. If you want to abort the brewing process,
press the one-cup (14) or two-cups but-
ton (15) again.
15. Do not remove the portafilter until brew-
ing is done and the Espresso Machine is
in standby mode again.
Remove the used espresso grinds and
clean the filter insert and portafilter.
16. Wait at least 10 seconds before making
the next espresso.
