1. Fill the water tank (2) with 0.5 litres of
descaler and two litres of water.
2. Switch on the Espresso Machine.
The four LED rings pulse white; the ma-
chine heats up.
3. Insert the portafilter (e) in the portafilter
holder for brewing (16).
4. Place a collecting vessel with a capacity
of at least 2.5 litres under the portafilter
and the steam lance (4).
5. When all four LED rings steadily light up
white, press and hold the hot water button
(12) for about eight seconds.
6. Turn the steam regulator (3) to 'MAX'.
The descaling solution is now released in-
termittently from the portafilter and steam
lance into the collecting vessel.
The LED rings around the one-cup but-
ton (14) and the two-cups button (15)
pulse.
7. Once the descaling solution has been
completely expelled, the LED rings
around the one-cup button (14) and the
two-cups button (15) alternately flash red.
8. Pour out the collecting vessel.
9. Turn the steam regulator to 'OFF'.

10. Remove the water tank.
The appliance then switches off.
11. Thoroughly rinse the water tank and fill it
with fresh tap water.
12. Reinsert the water tank.
13. Switch on the appliance and repeat
steps 4 to 12 for rinsing.
14. Descaling is now complete.
