1-5. Maintenance, service and warnings

The UPS system operates with hazardous voltages. Repairs may be conducted only
by qualified maintenance personnel.
Caution - Risk of Electric Shock. Components inside the UPS system are
connected to the battery and may hold an electrical charge and present a hazard
even after disconnecting the UPS from the mains (building wiring) outlet.
Disconnect the batteries and confirm that no current or hazardous voltage exists in
the terminals of high capability capacitor such as BUS-capacitors prior to conducting
service and/or maintenance or any kind.
Only trained personnel familiar with established precautionary measures should
attempt to replace batteries or supervise others. Untrained personnel must not
attempt any service or replacement.
Caution - Risk of Electric Shock. The battery circuit is not isolated from the input
voltage. Hazardous voltages may occur between the battery terminals and the
ground. Before touching any components, verify that no voltage is present!
Caution - Do not incinerate batteries. This can cause an explosion.
Caution - Do not attempt to open or damage batteries. Released electrolyte is
harmful and potentially toxic to the skin and eyes.
Batteries can cause electrical shock and have a high short-circuit current. Always take
theses precautionary measures and any other measures deemed necessary when
working with batteries:
a)
Remove watches, rings, or other metal objects from hands and wrists
b)
Use tools with insulated (rubber) handles.
c)
Wear rubber gloves and boots.
d)
Do not lay tools or metal parts on top of batteries.
e)
Always disconnect the charging source and load prior to installing or
maintaining the battery.
f)
Remove battery grounds during installation and maintenance to reduce
likelihood of shock. Remove the connection from ground if any part of the
battery is determined to be grounded.
When changing batteries, use the same number and type of batteries or battery
packs as specified
For UPS with internally mounted battery
a)
Information to enable the replacement of the battery with a suitable is available
at www.v7world.com
b)
Safety instructions to allow access by service personnel is stated in the
installation/service handbook, available at www.v7world.com
c)
If batteries are to be installed by service personnel, instructions for
interconnections, including terminal torque is available upon request.
Replace fuses with the same type and amperage.
Only authorized service personnel should attempt to dismantle the UPS system.
WARNING: (for 220/230/240 VAC system) This is a category C2 UPS product. In a
residential environment, this product may cause radio interference, in which case the
user many be required to take additional measures.
