Cleaning the Air Filter

When the message on cleaning the air filter is
displayed on the projected image, clean the air
filter.
If the dust cannot be removed from the air filter
even after cleaning, replace the air filter with a
new one. For details on a new air filter, consult
with qualified Sony personnel.
Caution
If you keep using the projector even after the message
is displayed, dust may accumulate, clogging it. As a
result, the temperature may rise inside the unit, leading
to a possible malfunction or fire.

Turn off the projector, and disconnect the AC
power cord from the AC outlet.
Note
If you remove the side cover while the AC power cord
is not removed from the AC outlet and power is not
turned off, you may touch the fan inside the unit,
resulting in injury.

Loosen the screws (three) on the side cover.

Lift up the bottom of the side cover to remove.

Loosen the screws (six) on the air filter.

Remove the air filter.

Clean the air filter with a vacuum cleaner.
