Improper use of the appli-

For hygiene reasons, pour

away the fi rst three batch-
es of boiled water from
your new kettle.
During fi rst use, after de-
■
calcifi cation and after hav-
ing not used the appliance
for a prolonged period of
time, fi ll the water tank
completely, heat it up and
throw the water away.
Wash the tea set and the
■
fi lter insert thoroughly with
warm water prior to fi rst
use, and if required use a
little mild washing up liquid.
1. Clean the tea set as described
in section 'Cleaning' on page
EN-21.
2. Fill the kettle with fresh tap
water to the MAX (6) fill level
mark and heat it as described
in section 'Heating water' on
page EN-16.
3. Pour this batch away after
heating.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 two to
three times.
5. Wash the tea set and the filter
insert thoroughly with warm
water prior to first use, and if
required use a little mild wash-
ing up liquid.
