5. Ensure that the electrical con-
tacts on the underside of the
kettle, on the base (7) and on
the control panel (4) do not be-
come wet.
6. Rinse the inside of the kettle
and/or the teapot with clear tap
water.
7. Thoroughly dry all parts after
cleaning.
Decalcification

Heat and pour away at

least one full batch of wa-
ter after descaling.
Depending on water hardness,
limescale may form inside the
kettle. You must decalcify the
appliance if the inner walls or the
hotplates on the base of the ket-
tle show visible lime deposits.
1. Mix ½ a litre of water with 2 ta-
blespoons of citric acid.
2. Allow the mixture to come to
the boil.
3. Dispose of the mixture. Do not
pour it into an enamel-covered
sink.
4. Rinse the water tank out thor-
oughly with cold water.
5. Thoroughly dry all parts after
cleaning.
6. Heat a complete jugful and
then tip the water away.
Storing
• If you are not going to use the
appliance for an extended pe-
riod, store it with care.
• Make sure that the appliance
is disconnected from the mains
supply and is completely dry.
• Store the appliance in a cool,
dry place.
• Make sure that the appliance
is out of the reach of children.
