5.2 Replacement of spare parts
1. Disassemble actuator as described in
chapter 5.1, points 1-9.
2. Pull out actuator membrane assembly
manually upwards from actuator base
16. The actuator membrane assembly
comprises actuator spindle 15 including
dowel pin 30 and adapter 31, hexagon
nut 21, washer 45, upper and lower
membrane plate 6, actuator membrane
14 and two sealing washers 22 (for
diaphragm sizes 40 and 50 distance
piece 28 and O-ring 27).
3. Fix actuator spindle 15.
CAUTION
Damage to the actuator spindle 15
when using unsuitable tools!
Damaged actuator spindle 15 can
no longer fulfi l its function.
Clamp actuator spindle 15 in a
vice with soft clamping jaws or
hold it with an appropriate tool
that will not damage the spindle
surfaces.
4. Remove hexagon nut 21 with open-end
wrench SW13.
5. Remove washer 9.
6. Remove upper membrane plate 6.
7. Remove upper sealing washer 22.
8. Remove distance piece 28 and O-ring
27.
9. Remove actuator membrane 14.
10. Remove lower sealing washer 22.
11. Insert new lower sealing washer 22.
12. Insert new actuator membrane 14.
13. Insert distance piece 28 and new O-ring
27.
14. Insert new upper sealing washer 22.
15. Insert upper membrane plate 6 -
observe correct installation position
(see drawing chapter 5).
16. Insert washer 9.
17. Tighten new hexagon nut 21 with an
open-end wrench SW13 with 16 Nm.
18. Remove compression spring 32 from
actuator base 16.
19. Remove bush 17.

Damage to the bush guide in the
actuator base 16 when using
unsuitable tools!
Damaged bush guide can no
longer fulfi l its function.
Press out bush 17 from actuator
base 16 upwards with an
appropriate tool that will not
damage the bush guide.
20. Press in new bush 17.
Damage to the bush 17 when
using unsuitable tools!
Damaged bush 17 can no longer
fulfi l its function.
Press bush 17 from above
into actuator base 16 with an
appropriate tool that will not
damage bush 17 .
21. Lubricate actuator spindle 15 (including
dowel pin 30 and adapter 31)
(GEMÜ recommends MOLYCOTE 111
COMPOUND).
22. Place compression spring 32 into
actuator base 16.
