Richtlinie Medizinprodukte (Europa)
Diese Produkte entsprechen der Richtlinie 93/94 über
Medizinprodukte
1. Verwendung und Gebrauch
LAP-Elektroden dienen dem monopolaren Schneiden bzw.
Koagulieren und werden mittels geeigneter Anschlußkabel an
entsprechende HF-Geräte angeschlossen. Diese Produkte unter-
liegen bei bestimmungsgemäßem Gebrauch einem mehr oder
weniger starken Verschleiß. Daher ein Produkt vor jeder Anwen-
dung einer gründlichen Sicht- und Funktionskontrolle unter-
ziehen.
In diesem Fall

1. Use and Operating
0123
LAP electrodes are used for monopolar cutting and coagulation in
combination with proper connecting cables and HF units. These
products are more or less subject to wear depending on the intensity
of use. This kind of wear is caused by technical factors and cannot
be avoided. For this reason, please carry out a thorough visual
examination and a function test prior to each application of these
products. Cracks in the ceramic insulation may result from improper
handling. In such cases, the product cannot be used any longer. A
product must be replaced if it shows signs of wear or fails to
function as described in these instructions. In this case, please
contact the manufacturer or one of its authorized representatives.
Connection to HF unit in monopolar mode
In a first step, fix the neutral electrode ("return plate") to the
patient, possibly on the upper arm or the thigh. Ensure that the skin
is free from hair and grease. Apply conductive gel evenly over the
neutral electrode. The current paths inside the patient's body should
be short and must run diagonally. Current paths must never run
diagonally across the body or across the thorax.
The patient must be insulated against all electrically conductive
parts. Ground the operating table. Place the patient on a dry,
electrically insulating layer. Prevent skin areas from touching each
other and place dry gauze in between. Never place HF cables
directly on the patient's skin. Never lay HF cables in loops. Connect
instrument or handle with coagulating electrode and switch on the
HF unit. Then connect the neutral electrode, the footswitch and the
LAP electrode with the corresponding cable to the HF unit.
In order to avoid interference with camera systems, do not lead HF
