5.3 Checking the chain brake functioning (only for the tool without connection to an extension pole)
Before performing any task, first check the brake (12) for proper functioning, and carry out the following operations:
Start the tool and firmly hold the handles (1) and (8) with both hands (picture H).
Pull the operating lever (5) to start the chain (15). Push the hand-guard (12) forward with your hand back.
When the brake (12) is engaged, the chain (15) stops immediately. Release the operating lever (5).
Release the brake (12) bringing the hand-guard (12) back to its initial position.
ATTENTION!
The chain pruner does not work when the inertial chain brake (12) is engaged.
SAFETY RULES ABOUT THE KICKBACK EFFECT
The kickback can be produced when the bar (14) upper part touches an object, or when the wood gets locked or
crushed during the cut. Hold the chain pruner firmly with both hands in order to avoid or reduce the kickback effect.
The knowledge and the prevention of any kickback eliminates the „surprise factor‟ and reduces, therefore, accident
possibilities. Check that the cutting area is free from obstacles.

5.4 Chain locking pin

The chain locking pin (18) protects the operator in case of chain (15) breakage.
ATTENTION!
Check the chain locking pin (18) and replace it, if it is damaged.

5.5 Not allowed uses

Do not use the chain pruner when being in unstable balance.
Do not cut materials which are different from wood.
Do not use the chain pruner as a lever or to lift, move or break any objects.
Do not use the chain pruner if the atmosphere is explosive or inflammable.

5.6 Working and sectioning rules

Before sectioning a trunk, check its position on the holding frame. This will allow to cut it in the right way, avoiding that the bar
(14) locks in the middle of it (picture T)
1. Start cutting more or less ¼ of the diameter of the upper part, then carry out the cut of the lower part. This way the
cutting performance will be perfect, and the bar (14) will not remain locked in the trunk.
2. Start cutting more or less ¼ of the diameter from the lower part, then carry out the cut of the upper part
ATTENTION!
If the wood locks the chain (15) while cutting, stop the motor (24), lift the trunk and change its position.
Do not try to free the chain (15) by pulling the tool from the handle.

5.7 Tool transport

When carrying the tool, keep its bar (14) backwards and inside its guard (3) (picture P).
For long transports from one place to another keep the tool in its packaging and the chain brake (12) engaged (if it is the tool
version without connection to an extension pole) .
ATTENTION!
Always carry the tool keeping the inertial chain brake (12) engaged (if it is the tool version without connection to an
extension pole).
ATTENTION!
Use the tool for the aims described in ch. "Product description" only. Any other kind of use may cause injuries.

5.8 Storing the tool

When the tool has not to be used for a prolonged period:
Follow all the maintenance indications in the manual.
Empty the oil reservoir (22) and close the tap (9).
Remove the cutting residues (sawdust) from the front cover (2) and perfectly clean the chain pruner.
Put the bar (14) into its guard (3).
